Awareness of the accident and injury potential of automatic gate systems is growing and a new body, Gate Safe, supported by RoSPA and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, is advocating improved standards and guidelines.

Some websites selling finger guards offer a single model, others offer various models but don't explain why one model may be preferred over another. We hope to improve on that situation by offering choice and clear advice.

All of the finger guards we stock offer high levels of protection against accidental finger trapping, what varies is how well a guard fits into the wider setting.

For example, some doors experience frequent use while others are used far less.  External doors are subject to weathering forces that internal doors never experience. Automated doors need a different approach to manually operated doors. And so on.
